This famous Orlando theme park was officially opened to public on May 28 of the same year, as part of an expansion that has transformed Universal Studios Florida into the Universal Orlando Resort, along with others such as City Walk Entertainment District, the Portofino Bay Hotel, and Hard Rock hotel.
The park consists of a total of seven themed islands, only one of which is used as a tie-in with Universal Pictures. The overall theme is that of a journey of exploration, where guests start their tour from the main port to visit the islands, each having its own separate and distinct theme, but all emphasizing on escapade. On June 18, 2010, the seventh island, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (based on Harry Potter series) officially opened at the park, its chief investment since the inauguration.
The park is designed in such a way that from the ingress it is sprawled in a clockwise fashion, beginning with Port of Entry leading toward Marvel Super Hero Island meandering its way to Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Lost Continent, and lastly taking us to Seuss Landing.
Visitors from far reaches of the globe have tread across these seven magical islands, of one of the greatest Orlando theme parks of United States, taking countless different experiences along with them and a whole new tale to be re-told. In more ways than one, Islands of adventure lets you break away from the mundane moments and exposes you to a dream-like maze. Walt Disney World resort is applause worthy addition to Orlando’s constellation, aiding in pushing an already enormous figure of tourist incursion all year round. All in all, Orlando theme parks and Islands of adventure in particular, deliver what they promise and the name itself is more than enough for one to visualize what is to come!
