The Cosmopolitan is a brainchild of the architect, Friedmutter Group and Arquitectonica designed the building's themed exterior. The hotel was initially planned to open and operate under Hyatt as the Grand Hyatt Las Vegas. This glamorous hotel is the second of Las Vegas resorts and hotel to feature an underground parking facility. In March 2010, several celebrity chefs and restaurants were announced to launch their presence pre-opening. These included Bruce and Eric Bromberg's Blue Ribbon and Costas Spiliadis' Estiatorio Milos to name a few! After 2 months, the resort announced that José Andrés would be joining the resort bringing three new restaurants – one is his namesake restaurant, "É by José Andrés", second Jaleo and third one, China Poblano; an entirely new concept that collaborated and brought a blend of International and Chinese cuisine.
Additional restaurants are D.O.C.G - a restaurant and wine bar by Scott Conant. Holstein's is famous for its specialty in burgers. STK, a steakhouse by Todd Mark Miller is also much-liked by visitors and guests; and lastly The Henry,Va Bene Caffè and Wicked Spoon are also picking fame! The hotel has also had its share of controversial media coverage when in April 2011, a transgendered guest was ashamed, removed from the hotel’s ladies’ room and asked to leave the premises, this naturally wreaked havoc in public, who strongly condemned the discrimination and demanded an apology. It was later sorted out and sensitive issues were taken care of, then onwards. Aside from that news, the hotel has only won the hearts of all who have set foot starting from the foyer!
