Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds, an associate of Goldman, Sachs & Co purchased American Casino & Entertainment Properties that includes famous Las Vegas Casinos in which Stratosphere is included, alongside three other projects. The property's main attraction is the 1,149 ft tall Stratosphere Tower! The hotel is lavishly constructed with 24 stories, 2,427 rooms and sprawled across an 80,000 sq ft of casino space.

It also features a revolving restaurant known as “Top of the World – a great hit with guests and visitors alike! It is offers the best weekend retreat anyone could ask for! Home to the largest thrill rides in the world, its 4 totally over-the-top and adrenaline-charged rides have taken over the world like a hurricane! Big Shot at 1,081 ft steals the limelight for being the highest thrill ride in the world. Insanity at ft (270 m) is the second highest thrill ride in the world; riders dangle over the edge of the tower and are spun in a circular fashion at 40mph! X-Scream follows the lead being the third most thrilling ride in the world at 866 ft. Last but not the least, the world’s highest Skyjump is found here - a bungee jumping ride that allows riders to jump over a 855 ft descent wire.

Known as an outclass Gaming zone, the casino games consist of 1500 slot machines and exciting video poker machines. There is a poker room and a race and sports book, apart from offering 50 table games! Now you know why weekend retreats can’t get any better! It is also most notoriously associated with the controversy that happened in two separate incidents in 2005. The riders were left hanging in mid-air some hundred feet above the Las Vegas Strip for over an hour and a half due to Insanity being shut down mid-way. The ride didn't malfunction, but was automatically set to halt operation if a fault is detected by the ride's power system.
